Math Circle Goes Virtual for Fall 2020
Due to COVID-19 and based on guidance from Emory University, we have decided that for the safety of all involved, Math Circle will be held virtually this fall. Lessons will be forty minutes long and held over Zoom. We believe that students will have the best experience if they have a computer they can use for the lesson that has a camera and a microphone, and a stable internet connection. If you do not have access to these, please email us and we will discuss possible arrangements.
Math Circle Registration
Until October 8, you may register your children for spring classes. Please follow the instructions on this page, which describe which classes we are offering this fall, then click on my account in the top menu bar. If this is your first semester with Emory Math Circle, you will need to create a parent account first. You may enroll your child in any section that is not already full (class capacity is 30 students). On October 9, 2020, registration for fall classes will close. For more details on how to register, see below.
Step 1: Pick Your Level
Choose which level is appropriate for each of your children. Typically, we have five levels. When you have chosen a level for your child, be sure to edit their student profile and select this level as their Math Circle Level. While our classes are designed for middle and high school students, if some sections still have empty seats, we can consider allowing 5th grade students to participate on a case by case basis. Please email us to discuss this option.
Step 2: Rank the Available Sections
For some levels, there is only one section available. This semester for planning purposes due to the virtual environment, we have combined Middle School A and Middle School B, which have 3 sections available. Each section of a class meets every other week, with the full schedules listed below. If you try to enroll in a section that is full, you will be added to its waitlist.

Step 3: Create A Parent Account (New Families Only)
Click on the my account tab on the top of the page and create a parent account.
Step 4: Create or Update Student Profile(s)
Each student who would like to register must first have a student profile as part of a parent account. 
For new students, a student profile must be created.  Note that there's a checkbox asking if the parent has signed a permission form.  Note that all parents will need to sign a permission form for each of their participating children this semester due to the change in format.
For returning students, the profile must be updated by (re)entering the current grade level in school and the Math Circle level from the dropdown menu. Do this by clicking the "edit" button next to the child's name. You will need to sign the permission form before you can move on to Step 5 below.
Step 5: Register
Once a student profile has been created / updated, return to the Students page. In the "Registration" column, click on the Register button.  This is where you actually pick your preferred sections and enter the lottery.
