In order to succeed in this course, you need to know the topics below. It is NOT possible to survive this course if you do not have a good background of the following:



Algebra:


Simplifying, factoring, law of logarithms, law of exponents/radicals, completing the square

Basic Review of Algebra: This file reviews basic algebra skills. At the end, there are a ton of practice problems with solutions. I recommend doing the problems listed here.




Trigonometry:


Evaluate sin/cos/tan of ANY multiple of pi/6, pi/4, pi/3, and pi/2, plus know what sec x, csc x, and cot x represent.

Limits, Derivatives, Integrals:



Limits:

All limit methods from Calculus I (including L'Hospital's Rule)

Derivatives:

Power Rule, Product Rule, Quotient Rule, Chain Rule

Integrals:

Everything from Calculus I, including u-substitution.

It would also help to remember approximations of area under the curve and Riemann Sum (5.1-5.2). You should understand the concepts of it rather than memorizing steps. I won't require you to review this, however, we will relate it to other topics later on in the course.
