Prerequisites: No prerequisite
Grading: Grades will be based on ten homeworks, two in-class exams and the final exam according to the following weights:
homeworks - 20%
two in class midterms - 20% each
final exam - 40%
Midterms: There will be two in-class closed-book midterm exams. Tentative dates: Thursday, October 16 and Tuesday, November 25.
Final: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 4:30pm-7:00pm, MSC W302
Homework: A number of problems will be assigned once a week. These problems will be graded.
Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a final exam (for dates see above). All exams will be closed book. Please note that the date and the time of the final exam cannot be changed.
Honor Code: The Emory Honor Code will be in effect during all exams.
Note: You can bring one 5 inch by 8 inch card, containing any information, formulas,etc. you choose (both sides), to exams. You will be allowed to use calculators on the exams.
Office Hours: You are very much welcome to just drop by at my office at any time (though it might happen that I'm not there) or make an appointment, preferably by e-mail, if you have any questions or comments.
