Research

I received my PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization in 2002 from Carnegie Mellon Univiersity. Maybe not so surprisingly, my interests lie in the intersections of algorithms, combinatorics, and optimization.  In particular I am interested in approximation algorithms, combinatorial optimization, mathematical programming, and combinatorial scientific computing.

I enjoy solving solving algorithmic problems on graphs by applying techniques from mathematical programming. I have mostly worked on covering problems in graphs and generalized matching problems.
